If you are a man going through divorce or some other family law problem, I want to welcome you to Divorce Lawyers For Men. My name is Jeanne Sockle and Divorce Lawyers For Men was created by me and my partner, Frank Morris, to help men get treated fairly as they deal with divorce, support modification, or any other family law problems. For too long, the divorce process has resulted in too many men paying unreasonable support and getting unfair custody and visitation plans. We are dedicated to helping you reach your goals in your divorce and in helping you to rebuild your family in a way that leads to a better life.
I am an attorney who believes strongly in protecting the rights of men going through divorce. While the Washington family law court system has made great strides to become gender neutral, there is still a tendency for divorce judgments to favor women. I believe it is wrong to punish men in divorce. Most fathers should have equal opportunity to custody and visitation and no man should be forced to pay excessive support. I am dedicated to fighting for these rights in every divorce case.
I am a graduate of the Washington State Bar Association (WSBA) APR 6 Law Clerk Program. Washington is one of the states that provides this alternative means of studying law. Rather than attending traditional law school, I worked and studied as a clerk in the law firm under the supervision of the WSBA. Before becoming an attorney, I had worked for thirteen years as a legal assistant/paralegal. I have the best of both forms of legal education – formal academic training and thirteen years of on-the-job experience. Additionally, I have an Associates Degree in Paralegal Studies from University of Maryland and my Bachelor’s Degree from The Evergreen State College.
I am a licensed member of the Washington State Bar Association and the Thurston County Bar Association. I am a past President of the WSBA Law Clerk Board. I am an Eagle member of the Washington State Association for Justice, a President’s Club member of the American Association for Justice, a member of the King County Bar Association Family Law Section, and other professional organizations. On a more personal level, I am the mother of four grown sons, and a former military and law enforcement wife. I have spent my life immersed in the issues facing men and their family lives, including military servicemen and first responders.
